I love matcha! It has a very bitter flavour on its own, but when added with other ingredients it loses its bitterness and creates a unique and complex flavour. Matcha is actually the powdered form of green tea. For all of you green tea addicts, matcha actually packs in 10 times the antioxidant and nutritional value of regular brewed green tea. Matcha also has some caffeine, but unlike most caffeinated drinks like coffee and soda it does not raise blood pressure or heart rate. It is also known for its weight loss and other health benefits when taken daily. These matcha energy balls are a great pre-workout snack to really get ya going.


  • 1 cup medjool dates
  • 1 cup blended rolled oats
  • 3 – 4 tsp raw matcha powder
  • 2  tsp vanilla bean powder
  • 1/4 cup cashews
  • 4 tbsp coconut sugar
  • 1/4 cup ground up raw cashews (for rolling)
  • water if needed to make stickier

Additional Ingredients

  • shredded raw coconut


Add all ingredients in a food processor or mash by hand. Roll into balls, then roll in ground cashews or your favourite nut for extra flavour.
