I love getting this salad when I go out to sushi, but it tends to be made with a lot of sugar and isn’t always gluten free. This easy to make recipe will have you jumping for joy if you’re a fan of gomae. I used black sesame seeds here, but use what you have on hand. Enjoy!

  • 1/2 cup boiled spinach
  • 3 tbsp roasted sesame seeds
  • 1 tsp mirin
  • 1 tsp coconut sugar
  • 1 tbsp coconut aminos (or tamari)
  • 1 tbsp water (more or less depending on consistency)

  1. Grind sesame seeds in a food processor/grinder. Pulse till seeds make a thick paste
  2. Add paste to a small mixing bowl. Add mirin, coconut sugar, coconut aminos and water
  3. Mix ingredients well
  4. Cut up boiled spinach and place in a bowl
  5. Add a few spoonfuls over top of the boiled spinach
  6. Top with more roasted sesame seeds
