Chick peas in brownies?! What? Trust me, it’s so good. You wouldn’t even know they were in there. These guilt free brownies are extremely tasty and perfect for a snack or dessert. Hope you enjoy!

 

Ingredients

  • 1 can of chick peas
  • 3 ripe bananas
  • 1/4 cup of water
  • 1 tsp of vanilla extract
  • 1/4 cup agave nectar/coconut sugar/brown sugar/honey (more if you want it sweeter)
  • 1/2 cup buckwheat flour or brown rice flour
  • 3 tbsp coconut flour (if you don’t have, use brown rice flour)
  • 1/4 cup of raw cacao powder
  • 1 tsp Ceylon cinnamon
  • 1/4 cup of chopped walnuts
  • 1/2 cup dairy free chocolate chips
  • 1/4 cup unsweetened organic coconut flakes
  • 2 tsp of baking powder

Additional Ingredients

  • Try hazel nuts or macadamia nuts instead of walnuts or use both
  • Add a couple teaspoons of pumpkin seeds or chia seeds
  • Vanilla bean

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 360 degrees.
  2. Mash ripe bananas, chickpeas, water, vanilla extract and preferred sweetener. Mix well.
  3. Add dry ingredients (buckwheat flour, coconut flour, cacao powder, cinnamon, walnuts, chocolate chips and coconut flakes) to wet ingredients.
  4. Add baking powder last.
  5. Pour into a greased 9×9 baking pan. We use coconut oil to grease the pan.
  6. Cook for 20-25 minutes.
  7. Enjoy!
